DERMAL FILLER

Dermal Fillers are treatments used to replace facial volume loss. They are injected into the skin to give you natural volume, leaving your skin looking hydrated and youthful. Dermal Fillers used in expert hands can restore volume and contour to an ageing face and are often used in combination in “non-surgical face lift” procedures. Typically the brands we use are Juvederm and Teosyal.

Areas available for treatments include:

  • Cheeks
  • Jaw Line
  • Chin sculpting
  • Perioral Lines
  • Marionette Lines
  • Nose Correction
  • Tear Troughs
What areas can be treated?
Dermal filler treatments are used to replace lost volume in the face, create fuller lips and shape facial contours, such as cheeks and chin, and revitalise the skin. The most common areas treated are:

  • Nasolabial folds (lines between the nose and corner of the mouth)
  • Marionette lines (from the corner of the mouth downwards)
  • Lips (Enhance the shape, definition and volume of lips)

How do Dermal Fillers work?
By introducing Hyaluronic acid which naturally occurs in our skin , volume which has been lost through ageing will re-appear creating a smoother, youthful appearance. The Hyaluronic acid will attract water to it further bringing hydration to the area leading to fresh, revitalized skin.
What does the treatment involve?
Dermal fillers involve injecting a stabilized, non-animal hyaluronic acid. This is tissue friendly and closely resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body.
Who should have Dermal Filler injections?
Any adult who is deemed fit to make an informed decision about the treatment and its associated risks.
What results can I expect?
You will see results instantly; however there may be slight swelling which will subside in a few days.
What are the possible side effects?
With any procedure there can be side effects. Short term side effects can include redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising or tenderness at the injection site. Lips can be particularly sensitive and swelling may last for a few days.
Who can adminster Dermal Fillers
Currently Dermal Fillers do not have to be prescribed but this is likely to change in the near future for health and safety reasons.  However they should always be administered by a medical practitioner with appropriate training, knowledge and experience.
